7 ideas for things to do on a flight
7 ideas for things to do on a flight

Even if it's a short flight, spending a couple of hours in a seat without any entertainment is not an attractive prospect. We know some great ways to pass the time in the air.

Start learning the language
To aid you on your travels, pick up a book or guidebook, download an audio lesson, and become familiar with a few fundamental words in the target language. Asking someone at the airport in a foreign language, "Can you help me?" or "How do I get to...?" is a great way to demonstrate your newly acquired flying expertise. Your flight will be entertaining and interesting because of this preparation. Furthermore, having this information is not unnecessary; who knows, maybe it will inspire you to fall in love with a new language?

Have fun
How many movies are on your must see list? Surely quite a few! A flight is a great opportunity to watch a movie or TV series that you don't have time for on a normal day. You can do this even if you forgot your laptop or tablet - some airlines nowadays have a whole digital library for passengers. At times on board, you can be offered a variety of entertainment on a digital touchscreen, including movies in different languages, including Russian. If you're not in the mood to watch a movie, there is a wide selection of TV shows, music or games in English, Arabic and Russian.

Get acquainted

Throughout the journey, the want to strike up a conversation with the individual sitting next to you persists, regardless of how long you wait for those glorious hours spent by yourself thinking. Be bold and courageous! Etiquette dictates that when the food is served or we are eating together is the ideal moment to strike up a discussion. We never know who you might run into on board—a new acquaintance, a business associate, or even the love of your life! In the business lounge, you can meet people for business purposes or simply strike up a chat before takeoff if you are flying business class.

Read the book
When will he finally read the very book that has been abandoned on the coffee table for the past two months—but not while traveling? Additionally, contemporary technology will save the day if your fortunate neighbor who has a seat near the window decides to shut the porthole in order to go to sleep. Take audio books, for instance! Furthermore, several airlines are prepared to provide an innovative substitute in the form of electronic newspapers.

Get some exercise
Well, unpacking your beloved treadmill might not be the best option, but a little exercise will help. It is detrimental to your circulation to sit still for extended periods of time. Thus, your flight will become much less exhausting if you download the required software ahead of time! Following a few exercises, your condition will undoubtedly improve. And speaking of which, have you heard of yoga on an airplane? This series of exercises was designed with a comfortable flight in mind. You can practice yoga during your flight to keep energized and in excellent health until you arrive, provided you remember to go on airplane mode on your electronic device and open the app.

Have a snack
Another way to have a good time on a flight is to have a snack. If the flight lasts about 4 hours, the feeling of hunger cannot be avoided. Of course, those who fly in business class have an amazing opportunity to feel like real gourmets and connoisseurs of haute cuisine. Fortunately, economy class today also offers diverse and appetizing menus. On most flights, you will enjoy delicious hot dishes (airlines today even have an option to pre-order the desired dishes). And during the flight, you will also have the opportunity to buy light snacks and drinks.

Get some rest.
As you can see, there are lots of methods to delight yourself while traveling by air. Flying time, however, can be a terrific opportunity for some folks to do nothing. Why not take a moment to unwind in a cozy chair while taking in the scenery below you and the passing clouds? Viewing the planet from above is a great way to take in all of its beauty. Imagine if a century ago, humans could only have imagined being able to see the world's ever-changing splendor from vantage points higher than a bird's eye view.
